In addition to publishing their music and movies, Playbaker's artists are now enabled to present themselves and their projects on their individual profile page within Playbaker. Text and picures can be published there as well as active content such as videos.
If you always wanted to know more about the artists behind Playbaker, you will be able to get to know them much better now.
Server relocation

Hundreds of mp3-songs published - little by little we were running out of webspace, therefore Playbaker moved to a new, bigger and considerably faster server within the last few days. We even managed to keep those dreaded downtimes caused by this changeover as low as possible.
Cooperation with Macwelt

Macwelt, renowned professional journal for Mac and iPod, enclosed 45 selected songs of Playbaker's portal on a bonus-CD of its current issue. All artists involved were featured at great length in the magazine's editorial.

Jens Bachmann, Playbaker, and Prof. Jörg Menno Harms, vice president of BITKOM, under discussion
At a press conference of Bundesverband Informationswirtschaft, Telekommunikation und neue Medien (BITKOM) during CeBIT 2006 in Hannover, Jens Bachmann introduced the music- and filmportal Playbaker to an interested trade press.
The subject "Music marketing online - How authors can distribute their works and make money in the internet age" was the cause for inviting the press to the auditorium. Under consideration were thereby conventional distribution- and reimbursement-models - in particular across-the-board charges - as well as their alternatives. Prof. Jörg Menno Harms, vice president of BITKOM, and Jens Bachmann assessed an almost total agreement on overdue copyright reforms in their conversation, hence the head of Playbaker was a highly appreciated guest.

Concerning points of principle on new and better ways of distribution for artists, Playbaker is a "groundbreaking business model for copyrighted contents" as stated in BITKOM's press information.

Portal Upgrade at Playbaker

During the CeBIT-fair the Playbakerteam has given at the press-conference an official presentation about the upgrade of its music platfom. A "fimstore" of special interest. Not only films are now on offer but also selected clips. The concept to the existing music platform remains unmodified, every film technician is welcome and licences are being granted for further use.
As film-makers often need an appropriate soundtrack for film or video, Playbaker paves the way for both music- and filmproviders.
Playbaker started joint ventures

Playbaker just started joint ventures with miscellaneous internet radio stations and other public media to promote name recognition of Playbaker's artists. In doing so it is up to the artist to decide if and which titles of his repertoire to authorise for airplay on assiociated radio stations.
DVDs on Playbaker

From now on DVDs can be offered at Playbaker's Musicstore as well. Teasers can be transmitted just the same way as it's done already with CDs offered here. Please note that because of general usability your sample-clips should not be larger than 10 Mb.
Playbaker and Froogle

All Playbaker-titles will be presented in Google's new product search engine Froogle, which was launched in November 2004. The entry there is created automatically along with the publication at Playbaker, provided that Google's terms of reference are accomplished. Google's terms of reference ask a. o. for providing Paypal as method of payment.
Co-operation with PayPal

With the integration of PayPal, a service provided by eBay, you can now pay free of charge by credit card or money transfer from all over the world. The songs and albums that can be bought through PayPal are marked accordingly.
If PayPal is offered is the decision and responsibility of the artist. It is fairly easy to amend the payment options in the log-in mask for the use of PayPal, and it should take just a few seconds.
Extensive system amendments

The latest update of the Playbaker system provided extensive and comfortable changes and amendments both for users and offerers. In addition to the automatic ranking system, all selling and handling modalities like, for example, p&p for CDs or payment modalities, can be defined individually.
Offerers within the pool system can now add their standard licence to already published pool titels by one simple click.
Having bought a CD will now activate an automatic delivery note by e-mail, provided the offerer has activated the respective button in the customer list.
